1. Everyone competes with the internet

    At SFO and I’ve noticed two internet-focused ads from two companies that aren’t primarily Internet-focused.

    One is a Marriot ad says: “Before there were social networks, there were hotel lobbies.”

    The other is an American Airlines ad that has a picture of some splendid natural monument in some exotic place with the words, “Some things you can’t download.” Ironically, that ad was probably downloaded many times during its design process.

    I wonder if the long term strategy planning parts of these companies see the Internet as a threat or an opportunity.
